The Beach Journal

This week Bikini Culture muse: Candice Swanepoel

Born in a little South African village called Mooi River, Candice grew up on a dairy and beef farm surrounded by nature and a loving family. At the young age of 16 her life drastically changed when she was scouted in a flea market. She then went on to book modelling jobs all across Europe and eventually took a leap of faith and moved to New York City.

Candice was discovered by Victoria’s secret who took her under their wings and introduced her to a whole new world. She was exposed to all sorts of amazing fashion opportunities and learnt under some very influential designers and photographers.

This year in 2019 Candice Swanepoel decided to launch her first lifestyle and swim brand inspired by a lifetime spent at the beach. It is an eco friendly brand inspired by the female form. She intended to create a brand with a purpose: to have appositive impact on the environment, and she certainly succeeded.

The swimsuits are made with sustainable fabrics and the brand continuously aims to reduce the environmental impact of their production and manufacturing processes. They create partnerships and programs which support women around the world and aim to inspire women to ‘feel confident on the beach and beyond’.

A leading swimwear brand entwined with positive messages of environmental sustainability and women empowerment, Tropic of C is a brand worth noting for your next exotic getaway.
